Return With Dancing Queen Kelly Chen in new TVC Series
Hong Kong, April 29, 2003 - By popular demand, McDonald's Restaurants (Hong Kong) Limited (McDonald's) has brought back its delicious selection of "Shake Shake Fries" with several exciting flavors guaranteed to have customers coming back for more. As part of the promotional campaign, McDonald's has for the first time ever invited a regional celebrity to appear in its TVC series. Superstar actress/singer Miss Kelly Chen will participate in the promotional campaign and star in the "Shake Shake Fries" TV commercials. Over a percussive dance track, the TVC series shows a beaming Kelly and friends laughing, dancing and shaking up a storm, while enjoying some of McDonald's tasty "Shake Shake Fries." The ad reflects the genuine good time that people associate with McDonald's and its food. The new McDonald's TVC "Shake Shake Fries" will be broadcast starting from April 30, 2003.
For the return of the "Shake Shake Fries," each McDonald's shaker bag will be imprinted with an animated image of Kelly. The energetic and colorful cartoon shows Miss Kelly Chen grooving and shaking to music along with customers who are making their own "Shake Shake Fries". Customers can feel the energy and rhythm of the "Shake Shake Fries", bringing the feeling to the whole city.
The innovative TVC concept was inspired by consumers' bond with McDonald's Shake Shake Fries. With Shake Shake Fries, it's not just about the flavour, but about the experience of popping the fries into the bag and shaking them up and down, or the shake and the noise it makes. The TVC series salutes this creativity of generating music and rhythmic sounds. The spirited and enthusiastic beats reflect the fun and novelty of using McDonald's shaker bag to mix the hot, crispy fries with the delicious seasonings. Shaking the bag can create each person's own distinctive sound and rhythm. This is certain to be a fun, special treat to try over and over again.
McDonald's "Shake Shake Fries" offer fans of McDonald's French Fries interesting new alternatives in taste and a uniquely different method to enjoy them. From May 1 until May 28, with any purchase of a McDonald's Extra Value Meal (including supersize), customers will receive a free shaker bag and one pack of seasoning. From May 1 to May 14, customers can try the "Hot Pepper" or "Barbecue" seasonings; then, between May 15 and May 28, it's "Garlic Mayonnaise" and "Seaweed." Customers can choose from these four delicious seasonings to rattle their taste buds.
