What is World Children's Day at McDonald's?
World Children's Day at McDonald's is a global charity event organized to help children in need across the world. Participating McDonald's Restaurants in more than 100 countries around the world work together to raise funds for children in need. In 2002, McDonald's Hong Kong teamed up with the Hong Kong Committee For UNICEF to host a series of special charity events on November 20, 2002. Proceeds benefited the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong KongTM.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong is a non-profit organization registered in Hong Kong, which does not belong to any other commercial organization. It raises funds for various charities with Ronald McDonald House as the cornerstone project. The first Ronald McDonald House in Asia was set up in Hong Kong in 1996 and it provides comfortable and caring accommodation to families with seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals.
The Hong Kong Committee For UNICEF
The Hong Kong Committee For UNICEF, established in 1986, is one of the 37 national committees. Its main roles are launching various fund-raising activities to support the works of UNICEF, arousing public awareness of the state of underprivileged children in developing countries, and understanding their needs regarding basic health care, sanitation, primary education, safe and clean drinking water and a healthy environment.
